New report focuses on small business lending landscapes in Detroit, Michigan and Richmond, Virginia
Businesses in low- and moderate-income or predominantly minority areas in Detroit, Michigan, and Richmond, Virginia, are less likely to receive small business loans than businesses in more affluent and more white neighborhoods in those metropolitan areas according to a report that Woodstock Institute released today. The report, “Patterns of Disparity: Small Business Lending in the Detroit and Richmond Regions,” examines bank lending to small businesses in those cities. The latest iteration of the Republican’s Senate bill for repealing and replacing the ACA includes a proposal designed to attract the support of more Republican Senators who have stood in opposition to the first version. The Cruz-Lee amendment would allow insurers to sell off cheap insurance plans that fall short of providing the essential benefits required by the ACA, just as long as the insurance companies offer at least one plan that meets the ACA requirements.Read more

These shell companies do no real business, but are often used for corrupt and criminal purposes; purposes that hurt small businesses in a number of ways.
