2018 Election Guide for Small Businesses

It's a busy time in Minnesota politics! Both U.S. Senate races, all eight of the state’s U.S. House seats, a governor’s race, the entire Minnesota House, secretary of state, attorney general, state auditor, and more are up for election this November.

Given all of this, it’s essential that small business voices are heard on the real issues that impact us.

Small business owners know what it takes to create vibrant local economies, and what it takes for small and mid-sized businesses to succeed. We need smart public investments that support our workforce and boost consumer demand. We need economic development funds that revitalize local economies and invest in all communities, especially communities of color. We need a level playing field for quality jobs, and inclusion and day-to-day safety for immigrant entrepreneurs and employees.

Main Street Alliance - MN recently sent out a questionnaire to gubernatorial candidates, asking them about some of the biggest issues our members have been talking about this election season: healthcare, paid family leave, childcare, tax policy, and economic development. Read the candidates' responses to find out where they stand on these important issues and check out the resources we've put together for our MSA-MN members to be best equipped for this year's important election.
