As small and independent business owners in the Twin Cities, we care about our employees and their families, and are committed to improving the quality of life for workers across the region. Earned sick time as a basic work standard is good for businesses like ours--it will strengthen our community and local economy. By establishing a modest floor for earned sick and safe time, we can work towards creating a more just and equitable Minneapolis.
We applaud the city’s inclusive process, ensuring small businesses had a seat at the table in helping craft a policy that works for business, our employees and our community. We feel this policy is a win-win-win, and support the the Earned Sick and Safe Time ordinance as introduced by the Minneapolis City Council.
